IMIA Celebrates Its 25th Year Anniversary

Medical Terminology Boot Camp

> Medical Terminology Boot Camp Glossary

The IMIA is pleased to offer the following 1-day course at the 2010 IMIA Conference!

Medical Terminology Boot Camp
Presented by Marlene V. Obermeyer, MA, RN

Dear Marlene:
"First of all, thank you so much  for the presentation!  I took a medical interpretation course with the Iinterptreters (56 hrs) where we had studied most of the specific  medical terminology, body structure  as well as  symptoms, treatment,  causes of the disease ect.  as well as the word formation. So, from that perspective this workshop was kind of redundant, but you know what,  - just as  the US legal  procedures keep all of us safe due to their redundancy, repetition of the medical terminology keeps us safe as professionals. But the BEST of all  (to me at least) is that your presentation has compiled complicated concepts in such an efficient and  wonderfully organized and systematic way that personally I don't have to worry about forgetting anything because everything is in there and can be located in no time. So, your presentation is an invaluable resource for an interpreter."
