The IMIA is an all volunteer organization. Given its size, volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated.

By offering your time and skills, you can help in any of a variety of important areas. These include routine, administrative tasks, to serving on committees, to helping with our national conference and other trainings. Perhaps you already have an idea as to how you'd like to volunteer with the IMIA - we'd love to hear from you! You will also have the opportunity to interact with colleagues and develop long-lasting relationships. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the IMIA!

There are numerous ways to participate:

-helping us manage the member renewals
-work on the bulletins and newsletters
-participating in the education, membership, conference, client education, meeting, public relations, ethics or other committees
-be our photographer
-coordinate catering for regional events
-help us with coordination and set up of meetings
-distribute our posters in the hospitals
-contribute with articles related to medical interpreting
-recruit colleagues to join the association
-contribute with your ideas and insight by email
-contribute with essays or case studies regarding medical interpreting or intercultural relations
