Gieun Oh is the IMIA Republic of Korea Chapter Chair
The year of 2014 is very special to Gieun Oh because she has become a NBCMI. While Gieun is studying medical interpreting by herself and teaching it since 2009 in Korea, she always wants to learn medical interpreting more professionally and become a certified medical interpreter. Finally Gieun became a NBCMI this year. She has been a devoted medical English conversation instructor since 2009, and now she can be a professional medical interpreting instructor to help improve communication skills between international patients and medical providers in Korea. She likes both English and Medicine, so she loves medical interpreting, which is the perfect combination of both. Gieun likes everything about medical interpreting, but if she needs to answer what is her favorite part of medical interpreting, she will say teaching medical interpreting because she loves teaching. Gieun has a B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science with Cytotechnology specialization from University of Utah (2000) and M.A in TESOL from Ewha Womans University (2013).
