Language Proficiency Testing

Network Omni Multilingual Communications

NetworkOmni Multilingual Communications offers health care organizations the ability to assess staff and interpreter's speaking and writing proficiency in over 50 languages. Testing is administered through Language Testing International (LTI), the exclusive licensee of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) assessments. Proficiency assessments are quickly and easily conducted via telephone or via the Internet on an as-needed basis. ACTFL is the most recognized and respected developer of language proficiency assessments, rating guidelines and tester training in the United States. Language Line University

Language Line University offers a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) that was developed internally with 25 years of experience, and validated externally by a recognized expert in the field of language learning.  It is offered over-the-phone in up to 150 languages and assesses the complex skill-set required to speak a language.  The skills assessed include knowledge of basic grammar, vocabulary and syntax, as well as comprehension, use of idiomatic expressions, pronunciation/enunciation and level of expression.  Tests can be scheduled anytime between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time by submitting a request on the website, www.languageline.com, and clicking on the “Interpreter Testing and Training” tab.  Once the test is scheduled and completed, test candidates receive a detailed results form that includes recommendations for improvement to help them further improve their language proficiency.  For questions, please call 1-800-351-6636 and a Language Line University staff member will return your call as soon as possible.
