Brief description:
Become better prepared to meet the cultural awareness objective of the National Standards of Practice for Interpreters in Healthcare. Through readings and dialogue, participants will gain capability to identify potential cultural misunderstandings in healthcare interpretation related to their target languages and cultures. Course is open to interpreters and interpreting students of all languages. Book discussion includes: The Spirit Catches you and Then you Fall Down by Anne Fadiman.
