Brief description:
This 40-hour curriculum is designed to provide medical interpreters with an overview of the basic elements of medical interpreting and prepare them for the ethical and policy issues. Students will learn about the need for healthcare interpreting, recent developments in the field, its professional ethics, and standards of practice. Students will also examine challenges and ethical dilemmas that often arise when interpreters and medical professionals interact, and develop the judgment needed to respond to them.

Portions of the Beginner and Advanced Anatomy and Physiology course offered by MiTio are also covered
