Brief description:
Cross Cultural Health Care's Bridging the Gap is America's #1 medical interpreter training program.

The UMHS is the only licensed Bridging the Gap provider in Michigan.

The 40-hour course is open to working and aspiring medical interpreters. It is taught by an authorized Bridging the Gap trainer. The class covers:

* Interpreting skills, techniques and ethics
* Cultural competency
* Professional development
* Basic medical information
* Communication skills

Course tuition is $650, including a non-refundable $100 deposit. You must pass a language proficiency test before registering.
