Brief description:
Medical Spanish for Heritage Learners is a unique academic minor program designed to prepare future allied health workers with the linguistic proficiency and cultural competency needed to provide high quality health services to Spanish speaking patients. The minor program includes a comprehensive overview of medical terminology in Spanish, consecutive interpreting practice and drills, in depth training in the translation of medical documents and health promotion materials, and comprehensive coverage of current health policy as it affects limited English proficient patients.
