Brief description:
Beyond Communication Limits is a 48-hour multi-lingual course.
It requires a mandatory working languages assessment and a proof of medical terminology mastery.
The course employs particpatory training techniques in an active learning environment at the UAMS Clinical Skills Center. It hones the ability to listen, understand, and convey the meaning of the verbal message accuarately and completely. Particpants learn and practice different modes of interpretation; study how to manage the flow and dynamics of the three-way medical interview in differnt settings: hospital and outpatient clinics, mental health facility, ER pediatrics and distance health.
