Brief description:
Medical Interpreting Online (CompLit 552) is a unique course that is delivered all online, enabling students to access the course from their homes at any time of the day. The course covers consecutive interpreting, sight translation, and telephone interpreting. Course content includes standards of practice, terminology (anatomy. pediatrics, dental, labor, internal, orthopedics, cardiology, AIDS, neurology), medical procedures, ethics, threaded discussions, consecutive interpreting, and sight translation. Texts are by Mikkelson, Larson, plus selected journal articles.
