CONTINUING EDUCATION UNIT (CEU) PROGRAM
Application to offer CEU points

This program is available for all training organizations.
The IMIA CEU Program will credit the time interpreters spend at workshops at conferences and continuing education workshops that provide Interpreter CEUs®. IMIA Continuing education units (CEUs) will be awarded to attendees based on IMIA approval of the presenters & content of workshop provide below. Only workshops that have been approved by the IMIA will be able to offer interpreter IMIA CEUs. Please complete the application form below. Why are CEUs important? They quantify the professional development work interpreters do. For each hour of professional development, you offer .1 CEUs. When your program offers Interpreter CEUs® it demonstrates that your educational workshop meets IMIA guidelines.

When you obtain approval via email you will be able to post on all marketing materials and on the certificates of attendance: This workshop offers .x Interpreter IMIA CEUs.

IMPORTANT:  Please read before submitting an application for CEU review by the IMIA
Any course, program or workshop offering an introductory level of instruction in general interpreting, medical interpreting, or community interpreting in which the primary focus is medical interpreting will not be reviewed for CEU's because these types of courses do not fall within the criteria for continuing education.
