2009 IMIA Compensation Survey (hyperlink above)
The International Medical Interpreters Association is pleased to present the findings of its 2009 Compensation Survey. First presented at the 2009 Global Perspectives Conference, the Compensation Survey is now available to view. Twenty nations of primary workplace were reported by respondents from across the globe: from Japan to Iceland, from Haiti to Angola; we are part of an increasingly internationalized field. The response was strong, and the data will be useful to contend for improved compensation and quality across the medical interpretation field. Thank you to all who participated!

The 2006 IMIA Salary Survey initial results are available for the general public. The goal was to document current payment status of the profession in Massachusetts. Interpreter profiles will allow the IMIA to see which factors seem to influence interpreter pay. Initial differences are noted in spoken language interpreter average pay as compared to ASL or legal interpreters. Many IMIA members responded that they are also medical translators.
